I have these as my summer set of tires. Great tire for the person who likes to feel the car. They handle great!! And are smooth and quiet I would buy them again.

Tire Pros

excellent tire

Tire Cons

Cost 55k vs 80k rating

I went to these Michelin because of a good experience with Michelin on my Porsche and the INCREDIBLY bad tires Mazada provides on new Mazda 3 series cars. The handling, wet, dry, snow performance with these tires was orders of magnitude better than the dealership tires and my Mazda 3 drove like a good car rather than having me wonder if I seriously made a mistake buying it. The only downside is the price and that they did not last 80,000 miles. I figure the price is justified in accident avoidance. A little closer to 80,000 miles tread life would be appreciated however. I replaced the original set with a new set of the same thing last winter because the snow performance was seriously degraded at about 55,000 miles.

Tire Pros

All season capability Handling Treadwear Wet performance

Tire Cons

Cost Tread noise Less performance than summer tire

I'm running Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus in stock size. Great handling all season tire, good treadwear rating even has a mileage warrranty. Less noise than worn OE Yoko's and great handling in the rain. Compliant ride with moderate tread noise. Highly recommended for all season capability and treadwear without given up performance Mazda is know for.

Tire Pros

Quiet ride, traction on dry and wet pavement, tread life

Tire Cons

Price

I have over 45K miles on the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus (205/50-17) in a 60/40 mix of freeway/city driving. They still have 5k to 10k of tread remaining. I am not sure about several reviews noting excessive noise... I have experienced noisy tires on this same vehicle (Goodyear F1) as well as truck and SUV tires. These tires have been relatively quiet from day one to current day (45K miles). I don't feel the traction on the Pilot Sport A/S Plus has been as good as the Goodyear F1, but the treadlife and low-noise factor more than makeup for that in my driving experience.
