Tire Pros

Offers a very quiet ride with good traction in snow.

Tire Cons

None yet.

I purchased a new car and, after doing so, gave my wife my Honda CRV. She started insisting that we trade the car in due to the exceptionally loud road noise. Figuring it may be the old tires which still had some life to them, I took a chance and purchased four new BFGoodrich Long Trail T/A Tour tires. What a difference these tires made! They reduced the road noise significantly. She is even getting very good traction in the snow. There aren't enough miles on the tires to determine tread life but, so far, I'm very pleased with the performance of these tires AND the fact that it saved me from buying another new car.

Tread Life

I get these tires rotated, balanced and checked over by Discount Tire and the dealership every 5,500 miles. At the beginning of 2012 and 17,000 miles on the tires, the tread wear is now half. All written reviews between November 2010 to now, about the poor tread wear on this tire (BFG Long Trail T/A Tour)are correct. It would be interesting to see if Discount Tire and BFG admit a flaw in advertisement and or tire material. The tire is way over priced for a true tread rating of 35,000. All the bad reviews came in a month after I purchased the tire (10/2010). Maybe these current reviews can help someone else in the future.

I guess they are as good as any other tire. I am not happy with the tread wear. If they go another 10,000 miles I will be lucky. The Michalins I had before were no better. Discount Tire gave a good adjustment so I probably will go back even though it is almost a 100 miles one way. You can make a appointment and they are punctual and at my age I do not have time to wait. Sincerely, Jerry Phinney
