Tire Pros

tread life

Tire Cons

not a performance tire

After 7000 miles the tires and tread look brand new. When hard accelerating they lose grip. overall a good tire so far. corners great though. the stiff side wall works great.

Tire Pros

Quiet, soft ride over expansion joints, potholes. 70k warranty

Tire Cons

None yet.

This is an initial review of the 225/45/17s Pirelli P7 Cinturato A/S with 70000 mile warranty. HUGE difference in ride quality, noise and crashing over potholes compared to the Michelin Pilot Sports that were installed prior. I'm not a lead foot, so I don't think I am sacrificing handling. I want sporty tires that grip, last a long time, and are quiet. So far, so very good. I will check back after the monsoon season to comment on wet traction.

Tire Pros

A competent tire all around, BUT...

Tire Cons

Unfixable Shimmies

Regardless of what this tire does well, they shimmied unfixably on my TDI wagon. Discount's incomparable customer care tried everything - multiple balancing tries, road force, even a second replacement set - all to no avail. So I went back to Yok 580's which replaced and surpassed the original Conti's, and voila.

Tire Pros

Ride and noise pretty good.

Tire Cons

Grip and handling pretty poor.

I put these on after I wore out my Conti DWS AS tires, and was pretty disappointed. They'd be fine if you didn't care about athleticism, but on a performance car they're not really appropriate. Overall, they feel pretty dead, slow to turn in, a little rubbery (no pun intended) mid-corner, grip not very good at all. They're discount tire rated as "BEST", along with the Michelin PS AS/3 (which I'm going to swap these out for), but they're not even in the same performance category, though priced similarly. I liked the Contis MUCH better. Will review the Michelins after I put some miles on them.

Tire Pros

High mile warranty Wet/Dry Traction Price

Tire Cons

ROAD Noise

Great tire, until I hit 7k miles. The tires started to feather on the edges and create a wind roaring road noise. The tires became so loud, that they were louder than my bridgestones that I replaced that had 30k on. Glad I purchased the CERTS. Maybe I just got a defective tire. discount allowed me to switch another model tire of = value. Downside is I will need to pay for the CERTS on the new tires. But its better than the droning road noise. This wins the award for Loudest tire I have ever owned.

Tire Pros

Bought these tires to replace the factory tires. We were very happy with the tires until last month.

Tire Cons

Tires start to deteriorate after 16,000 miles. Will blowout at highway speeds. Very unsafe tires after they age about a year.

Bought these tires to replace the factory tires. We were very happy with the tires until last month. My daughter had a flat/blowout that ruined the tire. Discount tires sold me a new tire at a reduced price. We had another blow out last night, less than a month later . They again replaced the new blow out at a reduced price. I looked at the latest blowout to see what could have caused the tire to go bad. I found MANY little cuts/defects on the tire. The assistant manager said this was normal with the mileage/age of tire. WHAT???? How can a tire that is supposed to last 70,000 miles have that many defects in the tread with only 16,000? I have been driving for 44 years and I have never had a radial tire blowout before NEVER. Two blowouts in one month is not normal.
