Tire Pros

Incredibly quiet. Great handling. Great traction in wet and dry conditions.

Tire Cons

Every so slightly stiffer sidewall can be felt on hard edge bumps.

Had a Yokohama Geolander on my 2012 Subaru Forester get damaged beyond repair and Discount Tire made me an excellent deal on a set of these new Yokohamas YK580. I was happy with the Geolanders, I am EXCITED about these YK580s. Noise is always my biggest concern and they are dang near dead quiet compared to any other tire I have owned. And the steering response, braking, and overall handling of the Forester has been increased significantly. The car honestly feels like a different and sportier car (without the road noise). If there was a down side, and this is REALLY MINOR, it would be that the sidewalls are just a tad stiffer than the Geolanders so the hard edged cracks in the road are barely more noticable. Again, BARELY is the key word, but it is worth noting. Small price to pay for the improved driving feel of the car with these YK580s on. I also had these sipped and immediately had to drive out in heavy rain. Standing water was not an issue and wet braking was terrific. Absolutely recommmended.

Had the tires two days and experienced choppy ride quality. Went to a racing tire/suspension shop company for a car check and comprehensive road force evaluation. Three of the four new tires were out of round/out of spec. Discount was gracious in accepting the findings and helping find and order a replacement upgraded tire - I would not take a replacement of the current model. Big disappointment as I've had good experience with previous Yokohama tires. I'll spend a little more, but hopefully have a better result. This car is driven predominantly by a 71 year old woman and we don't need a jittery ride and thumpy braking feel through the steering.

I went into Discount tires ready to buy a set of hankook Optimo's but they were not in stock. The salesman suggested the Yokohama YK580. After some research I bought a set and I am well pleased I did. The grip is amazing. The responsiveness is unbelievable. I hope tread life is good. I have not had them long enough to say their performance will last but if it does I would be hard pressed to purchase any other brand of tires. My hat is off to the sales guy for suggesting them.
