Tire Pros

Quiet, smooth ride, low cost for the miles.

Tire Cons

none.

Rotated/Balanced every 5000 miles. One of the better tires I have purchased in my life. Seems to be well suited for Mercedes C230. I expect to get close to 50,000 before I buy again.

Just put these tires on my BMW M Roadster. Purchased them based on discussions in the BMW forums, the online reviews posted on Discount Tire and some of their competitors. I'm really pleased with the grip. My roadster has a lot of torque, and the old Eagle F1s that I pulled off were sliding around like crazy - especially in the rain. The car came with the F1s on it. So I don't know how the Conti's would compare with new F1s, but it sure is nice to have some more grip.

These tires are on a 2000 CLK 430 with a staggered wheelset. Driving style is not aggressive and therefore tires lasted longer than normal for this vehicle. I am very pleased with the mileage and would purchase these tires again. They also balanced up with a minimum of wheel weights.

Tire Pros

Smooth and quiet, inspires confidence in spirited driving

Tire Cons

shoulder blocks should have harder compound

CLK 350 Convertible... Soon after purchase I took the car up to the hills for some spirited driving on tight winding roads. They gave just enough feedback and do not surprise you. Road noise is an important consideration on a convertible and these tires are quieter than Michelin Pilot A/S (which separated at 25k). Because these tires are fitted for cars with deep camber angles while turning (the wheels lean twd the turn due to the geometry of the suspension)they tend to be hard on the shoulder wear. These tires could use a harder compound on the shoulder to give full wear of the tire so I don't have to replace them because of shoulder wear. I have had these tires in the snow twice and have not been impressed while wet traction is great.

Tire Cons

Hydroplanes in moderate rain

I purchased these tires earlier this year because I was tired of the Michelin A/S Plus road noise. Central Texas hasn't had rain in forever, so I've been quite pleased with the performance on the Mercedes. Last week, we had a hard rain that I got into after the roads had been washed clean and the rain was coming down more easily. In a 15-mile drive, I waterplaned over a dozen times. This morning, I'm going back to Discount to see what kind of exchange is available for the Michelins. The Continentals performed nicely under dry conditions. They are highly rated for wet driving. That was not my experience.
