Tire Pros

I wanted to buy the best tires I could and believe this tire is as good as it gets for under $200

Tire Cons

Cant think of any.

I hunt backcountry gravel roads thru OK,TX,KS & Saskatchewan,Canada. But mostly drive in city of Tulsa which has terrible roads..cracks & potholes everywhere. I researched & concluded Michelin LTX A/T 2 were good all around tires so I bought 4 tires online before there was a discount tire store in OK and they have lasted me over 80,000 miles. I only rotated them twice in 4 years. I never got stuck in many terrible conditions. If you want a great hwy tire that can also handle sand, mud, snow, ice, gravel etc etc with out getting a flat or getting stuck & haveing to call a wrecker this is your tire. With over 80K miles they finally look tired so im buying another set of 4 for my rear wheel drive silverado. These tires are the closest thing to having 4 wheel drive on a 2 wheel truck and great hwy performance. Paul Schlosser Tulsa OK

Tire Pros

Michelin stood behind the warranty to a degree.

Tire Cons

Corners of tires started to round off, tread began to crack, they didn't last

Like many, I thought, "You get what you pay for" and Michelin has always been considered to pretty much be a top of the line tire. So, I didn't hesitate to buy these for my truck, thinking that they'd last. Unfortunately, they did not. I'm a very conservative, easy going driver, by anyone's standards. After 25,000 miles, these tires started to round off on the corners, even with meticulous rotation every 5k miles and taking corners relatively slowly. At my last rotation, I asked the store manager about some cracks that were appearing on the tread of the tires (not the sidewalls, they were fine, looked new in fact). His response, "That's not good!" In fact, he said that they were not safe in their present (cracked) condition. On the upside, he contacted Michelin and they pro-rated them to an extent, and was willing to credit back $90 per tire (they had a tread wear life rating of 60,000, which they didn't even come close to). Aside from not holding up, these are not what I'd consider to be "all terrain or off road tires" by any stretch of the imagination. They didn't handle very well in snow or ice on the road, which I travel 99.9% of the time. Imo, they road and handled like a car tire. So, I used the allowance towards what by any measure is a true truck tire and decided to go with BFG AT TA KO tires, in a larger size even. Here's to hoping that those expensive tires perform and hold up better than these ones did. The only positive thing that I have to say about these tires, is that Michelin stood behind them to a degree, even when they failed. That said, I bought the extended warranty on the BFG's, to avoid another costly tire expense. Take care.
