Based on great reviews I recently purchased two Continental DWS for the front of my wife’s 08 MBZ E350. From the first day, I noticed that there was significant vibration at 35+ and it pulled/pushed to the right. Thought it was the alignment and balance issue. So, I had the car aligned at MBZ dealer and the tires road force balanced on the DWS. The vibration was mostly gone. However, the push/pulling to the right continued to exist. According to one guy at DT, the DWS’ aggressive asymmetrical pattern may be the cause. Having only ridden on the DWS for a few weeks, I exchanged them for the PT722 (based another E350 owner having similar experience with the DWS). To my pleasant surprise the PT722 are smooth, quiet and much more responsive than the DWS at slower speeds and at 80-90+mph. And, most importantly, the pull to the right was virtually all gone; a significant difference right away (will have the alignment checked again, still ‘drifts’ a tiny bit, but nothing like the DWS ‘pulling’). Overall, PT722 are a great performing tire, did not have any of the squishy/roll feel like the DWS. Would serious consider putting the PT722 on the back when the OME (Contiprocontacts = junk) wear out; final decision to be made based on performance, wear and road noise on the PT722. Thanks for reading and good luck in your search for the perfect tires.
