Are you the type of adventurer that's always looking for the next epic destination? Then get ready for a maximum traction tire that is designed for you: the Toyo Open Country M/T. A mud terrain built for unparalleled performance across the harshest terrain, this tire isn't a tall tale—it's the real deal.
Toyo Open Country M/T Tire Features
In the Open Country MT, Toyo has built a mud terrain that enables the most daring drivers to become an off-road legend in their crew, caravan, club or circle. This Toyo lays down all the aggressive off-road traction you need to overcome any obstacle in your path.
Don't worry, Toyo MT tires aren't all talk. One of the toughest mud terrain tires available for your light truck, SUV or 4x4, the Open Country MT is built with a 3-ply sidewall and a high turn-up for added strength and durability, providing you the puncture and tear resistance you need to take on the rough stuff the next time you take your vehicle out.
To back up that durability with off-road performance, Open Country M/T tires are engineered a high-void tread pattern for grip on soft surfaces like mud and snow, while its deep siping within its tread blocks allows for confident handling when it's time to take the paved road home.
Other performance features of the Toyo Open Country M/T include:
- Its aggressive hook-shaped tread block design delivers extra biting edges for relentless off-road performance.
- For grip in wet conditions on and off the road the tread blocks feature deep sipes.
- Alternating scalloped and open shoulder blocks provide traction in soft surfaces such as mud, sand and snow, while self-cleaning through its open grooves.
- Aiding grip in aired-down driving situations and in deep mud and snow, Toyo MT tires are built with rugged shoulder lugs.
- Stone ejectors in between its tread blocks provide increased durability and stone drilling resistance by rapidly removing stones from its contact patch.

Silverado 2500
I drive these mostly off road and highway (which wasn't an option in the drop down). They have great traction off-road and look great. The downside is that on the highway, they ride really rough. I had Toyo Open Country ATs prior to these and will go back to those. They gave a far-superior all-around performance. to these. When these were first installed, I left the dealership with them being overinflated to the point that I couldn't hold the truck on the road. I had to pull over on the shoulder of the highway and let 15lbs of air out of each tire to get it to even be close to safe. Even after, they were so out-of-balance (and kept throwing off weights) that the truck was actually scary to drive. It took SIX trips to Discount to get these correctly balanced. They ended up deciding 2 of the 4 brand new tires were defective and replaced them. I was so tired of dealing with the whole thing after so many trips back and forth (the closest discount is about 45 minutes away), plus HOURS in the waiting room, I just decided to keep these tires even though I really hate the ride. On a positive note, the staff at Discount was really nice and we were all on a first-name basis and they knew and greeted me on sight by the time I finally gave up on these being right.

For a MT tire the ride is smooth and quiet. Just a low hum at highway speeds. They have been great in snow and rain. I drove through a literal blizzard with periods of white out conditions and the tires were flawless. These tires also have great traction in the dirt. Have not tested them in the rocks though.
