Toyo Observe G3-Ice

A heavy-duty winter tire that can crush through snow and icy terrain with ease.

Toyo Observe G3-Ice Features

Conquer winter conditions with a tire that performs well under pressure— like snow and ice. The Toyo Observe G3-Ice is a studdable winter tire designed for SUVs, crossovers and cars that comes in a variety of sizes, ranging from 13” to 22”. This workhorse of a winter tire is Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake rated and pinned to accept TSMI #11 studs, making it the perfect tire for winter driving.

The Toyo Observe G3-Ice received top-tier performance ratings for snow and ice traction compared to other similar Toyo product categories, showing its superior tire construction and grip in challenging winter conditions. The tire also received good ratings in tread life thanks to its tread makeup and durability. This is followed by solid scores in both wet and dry handling as well as ride comfort and noise.

Whether you’re driving a Chevrolet Silverado, Subaru Outback or Honda Accord, you can drive confidently knowing that these tires can get you through the toughest of winter snow and ice driving conditions.

Features of the Toyo Observe G3-Ice include:

  • Microbit technology that features ground walnut shells to ensure your tires don’t lose contact with the road in snow and icy conditions.

  • A Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake rating for severe winter weather conditions.

  • Optimized stud hole placement reduces noise and increases traction on snow and ice using fewer studs.

  • Gear edge design at stud hole maximizes traction when turning and stopping.

  • High-silica winter compound helps tread blocks retain their flexibility in colder temperatures and makes it easier to brake in wet, cold conditions.

  • High-density 3D multi-wave sipes help maneuver through compact snow and keep the tread block stable.

  • Large U-shape tread blocks feature a saw-tooth edge and are designed to effectively grip snow.

  • Directional tread pattern features staggered tread blocks for better traction and reduced noise.

Toyo Observe G3-Ice Treadwear & Warranty

Like most winter tires, the Toyo Observe G3-Ice does not include a mileage warranty.

Snow (both fresh and hard pack) on top of paved roads, these tires work well. Slush performance varies on the type of slush, and the speed encountered. I did not opt for studs, but on the little ice I have traveled, they did ok (once again taking it easy). I have a 05 caravan that I take snowboarding, and these tires have safely carried me over multiple passes here in Colorado, and up and down to resorts in NM, WY, and UT. The tires are noisy compared to all-seasons, so much so that you notice the different types of asphalt and concrete, this is my only complaint (but I'll gladly overlook due to the snow performance).
