My appointment was for 2 p.m. I arrived early and was told it would be done by 3. At a little past 2 my name was called and he told me gave me my keys. My car was already ready.

First time I booked the work needed online, I scheduled an appointment for tire rotation. Arriving a bit early, I looked at the cars in the parking lot and and watched each one get pulled in before mine, perhaps a first come first serve thing? I didn't ask if each of the cars there had appointments but it does leave me wondering: what good does it do to book an appointment if, when arriving, my car simply gets in line? All I remember of the schedule when I booked my appointment is the day was wide open, I could book the job any time of the day. So, the question is: if I book an appointment, is my car ever rolled in before another that just showed up? Is all work done on a first come, first serve? If yes, I'll skip booking online. Please, let me know how you handle this.
