Wheelbarrow tires come in three types:
Pneumatic (air filled)
These are the most common wheelbarrow tire type and are:
Lightweight
Great for homeowners, gardners, and landscapers
Smooth rolling
Easy to maneuver
Great at absorbing shocks
Pneumatic tires can go flat since they depend on an inner tube and valve for air support.
Flat-free (also called foam or no-flat)
These mimic the look and feel of pneumatic tires but do not become flat. They:
Are great for heavy loads (heavy landscaping, farming)
Require nearly no maintenance
Work great in all weather conditions
A bit heavier than a pneumatic tire
Stable and strong
Not so great at shock absorption
Are perfect for farmers
Solid
These tires are solid all the way through with no air or foam filling, just rubber. They’re:
Tough
Great for industrial settings
Require no maintenance
Hard to push on rough surfaces
Not equipped with any shock absorption
