Discount Tire will be featured on an upcoming episode of the popular Science Channel and Discovery+ series, Tomorrow’s World Today.

Tomorrow’s World Today highlights the latest advancements in science, technology, sustainability and more. Recently, Discount Tire was selected to appear for its use of advanced technologies to power smarter and simpler tire recommendations for drivers—these advancements align with the show’s focus on exploring four different perspectives (called “Worlds”) of progress and industry: Inspiration, Creation, Innovation, and Production.
A production team filmed the episode to showcase Discount Tire’s proprietary tire recommendation shopping tool, Treadwell™. The episode features Tom Williams (Executive Vice President and Chief Experience Officer) who speaks on what Treadwell means for customers and employees, David Ginsberg (Chief Corporate and Strategy Officer) providing insight on the tool itself and its technology/industry advancements, and Dr. John Baldwin (Senior Vice President) talks of the tire testing facility and the impact weather and consumer driving behavior/needs has on tire recommendations.
Treadwell is the same tool Discount Tire employees use in-store to help make expert tire recommendations to customers. It combines decades of data and tire safety check information with on-vehicle testing data to suggest tires based on unique customer requirements, such as their location, vehicle and how they drive.
The whole process takes less than a minute. Customers input their zip code so that customized results are based on their location. This means weather and driving conditions are always a consideration in the selection process.
